Introducing ‚The Initial Sama‘: New Serviced Apartments by Cover Projects on Evans Road 26

Cover Projects, a hospitality management company, has been awarded the tender by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) to manage the heritage property at 26 Evans Road. The property will be named „The Initial Sama“, a new co-living brand coined by Cover Projects. According to Lim Keong Wee, co-founder and managing director of Cover Projects, the name „Sama“ in Sanskrit means „balanced“ or „well-maintained“. The intention is to position the property as „a sanctuary in the city, dedicated to holistic well-being“.

The property at 26 Evans Road will be transformed into 74 serviced apartments, offering a mix of studios and one- and two-bedroom units. The interiors will feature a „retro-modern interior design, seamlessly integrating biophilic elements and natural furnishings,“ as described by Lim. This design approach aims to create a harmonious and calming environment for residents.

Lim Keong Wee, with a background in architecture and design, as well as five years in hospitality, co-founded Cover Projects in 2015 with Victoria Loh. Together, they have worked on various projects that blend their expertise in architecture, design, and hospitality. Previous properties designed by Cover Projects include Eighteen by Three Cabins, a premium cabin hostel on Stanley Street, and serviced apartments like Initial @ Balestier and Thank You Come Again social space at 355 Balestier Road.

Shared facilities at 26 Evans Road will include a pool and „sensory and healing gardens“. These spaces are designed to prioritize wellness and connectivity, providing residents with opportunities to relax, rejuvenate, and connect with nature. Additionally, a wellness-focused workspace hub will be available for residents to work in a conducive and inspiring environment.

The emphasis on holistic well-being and the integration of natural elements in the design of the property reflect Cover Projects‘ commitment to creating spaces that promote a sense of balance and harmony. By incorporating elements like sensory and healing gardens, the property at 26 Evans Road aims to offer residents a sanctuary in the city where they can unwind, recharge, and foster a sense of well-being.

In conclusion, the upcoming co-living property at 26 Evans Road, managed by Cover Projects, promises to be a unique and rejuvenating living space for residents. With its focus on holistic well-being, thoughtful design, and shared facilities that promote wellness and connectivity, „The Initial Sama“ is set to become a sanctuary in the heart of the city.
